Program Management: The Key to Successful Project Implementation

Program Management is the key to controlling your productivity improvement projects. It is the tool to schedule, track, chart, review, and summarize the status of each project. Asia Management Associates provides complete Program Management services and trains your local staff in how to use them to succeed in projects undertaken.

Operations Excellence Centre

In every area that Asia Management Associates provides services, whether it is 5S + Safety, or Lean processes, or Quality Assurance systems, we install at each location a projects control hub, called the Operations Excellence Centre (OpEx Centre). This site becomes the hub for controlling your efficiency improvement projects. We will install a complete turn-key Operations Excellence Centre at your factory. It will contain critical information including the following:

• Project Mandate: this is the charter for the project, with the goal and methodology clearly defined
• Project Team members identified
• Project Team Leader indicated
• Project Team Meeting times
• Complete overview of project timetable
• Detailed 90 day Project Activity and Task lists
• 1 Page Summary with all key information and project Status
• Issues List

Milestones are clearly indicated, with gate reviews. Projects identified can be concerned with any aspect of factory improvement, whether it be factory floor related, information flow and report generation, or accomplishing flawless launches of new products on schedule, on budget.

Visual Controls

The Asia Management Associates installed OpEx Centre at your factory uses very simple but effective system of Visual Controls to see at a glance where the problems or bottlenecks are. Issues are identified and listed, teams meet to review the issue. Where necessary members of other groups are invited to help in a cross-functional approach.

Dashboards

Typically, one of the first projects involves a review of the currently used metrics and KPI. This review will result in verifying those KPI as useful, or possibly augmenting them for a more meaningful reading of the pulse and health of the operation. Creation of a truely meaningful Dashboard that provides a reading of the company's performance is critical to the success of making your local entity more efficient and agile.
